Taarana School’s Annual Day Inspires All

19/11/2024

Every child deserves the chance to discover and celebrate their unique potential.

The Kalamandapam Hall in Brickfields buzzed with excitement recently as Taarana School’s Annual Day celebrated not just achievements but boundless possibilities. The event brought together families, teachers, and supporters to witness a spectacular showcase of talents and the resilience that defines the Taarana spirit.

The show started with the timeless tale of the Gingerbread Man, delighting the audience with its familiar charm. From there, the performance seamlessly transitioned through an evolution of dance, showcasing hits from the 1950s to the vibrant sounds of the ‘90s.

Following this vibrant journey through the decades, the spotlight shifted to Nur Adiena Maysara, a shining example of resilience and progress.

Maysara joined Taarana in June 2023 after her autism diagnosis, facing challenges like echolalia, impulsivity, and emotional outbursts. She has, however, made remarkable progress through consistent intervention, family support, and teamwork, embodying the transformative power of patience, love, and collaboration in helping children thrive.

This was perfectly demonstrated when she took the stage and delivered a soulful performance of Broken Angel, leaving the audience in awe and receiving a well-deserved standing ovation.

Next was “We Can Do It Too!” – an exciting showcase of physical exercises to enhance motor skills, balance, coordination, and sensory processing. The children engaged in activities like trampoline jumping, walking on yoga blocks, and rolling on gym balls, demonstrating how fun exercises foster physical development and boost self-esteem.

Following that, we showcased the Recycling Fashion Show, where creativity met sustainability. The students transformed discarded materials into stunning outfits, demonstrating that style and environmental responsibility go hand in hand. This also reflected Taarana’s Zero Waste initiative, showcasing our commitment to sustainability and community engagement.

The celebration also included an awards and certificate ceremony, recognising the children’s impressive growth and achievements in attendance, progression, artistic talent, and communication.

Emphasising the importance of inclusivity, the Chairperson of RYTHM Foundation, Datin Sri Umayal Eswaran, shared, “Every child deserves the chance to discover and celebrate their unique potential. By nurturing their strengths—be it in academics, the arts, or essential life skills—we equip them to build meaningful futures and inspire those around them.”

As we reflect on our students’ incredible journey, we must acknowledge their growth, creativity, and resilience. Principal Dr Sunitha Sivakumaran shared these heartfelt words with our students:

“To our dear students, you never cease to amaze us with your creativity and resilience. You inspire us daily, and witnessing your growth and achievements is a privilege.”
