Special Night by Taarana
Petaling Jaya, September 23, 2011 – Children from Taarana, School for Children with Learning Disabilities proved that they can rule the catwalk just as confidently as any ramp model in a recent fashion show held in PJ Civic Centre, during the 1MINE (1 Malaysia Indian Network of Entrepreneurs) Charity Dinner.
Taarana was nominated as one the three (3) recipients for the charity drive this year. The Guest of Honour at this event was none other than Malaysian Prime Minister’s wife, Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah Mansor.
Students from Anak Kesayangan Malaysia, Taarana put together an impressive Michael Jackson’s Dance performance for guests and officiated the events for the night.
Another highlight of the event was a fashion show by the children, who underwent a week-long rehearsal under the supervision of their dedicated teachers. Despite the fact that it was an extraordinary task for these special children to perform on stage in front of hundreds of audience, they smiled and sprinkled their magic into the air. They received a standing ovation from the audience.
We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate both teachers and children of Taarana for a remarkable and memorable performance that night. It was indeed a momentous occasion for all of us.
Taarana also received RM3000 of donation from 1MINE. The donations were presented by Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah Mansor and 1MINE President Datuk S. Gopinath and received by Chairperson of Taarana’s Board of Governance, Professor Dr. Low Wah Yun.
